Tickle tickle tickle…how annoying the mind can be, always poking and prodding at us just when we could do without it.
It always seems to be silly little things that irritate my mind, not the big stuff, as that is often easier to deal with.
Working on automatic pilot doesn’t help matters either. You go out and half way to your destination it begins… “did I turn the cooker off?”, “did I lock the front door?” “did I do X, Y, or Z?” ARGH!!! Then do you turn around, or not, maybe you should, just to make sure, no, you’re been silly, but what if, maybe I should ring the neighbour… and so the inner monologue begins. Yet 99% of the time you did, it’s just that you do things so automatically that your mind doesn’t register them properly.
Oh and then you get into bed! Boom! Your mind decides to kick in fully and on chatty mode too. On and on it goes, wittering away about silly useless stuff until it drives you potty, and all you want to do is sleep. I know it’s not just me this happens too, it’s all of us at some point. How annoying it all is, yet still it happens. So if any of you have a nifty trick to silence the mind, especially at bedtime, please let me know 🙂
