As the goddess becomes the maiden her energies focus on birth and renewal as we see the first signs of spring peeping through the cold of winter.

    I don’t know where you live, but it’s the dead of winter here. It won’t be spring until at least April. There’s a saying here, “As the days grow longer, the cold grows stronger”. Imbolc has nothing to do with spring. It has everything to do with the sparking white bright sunny winter days. Getting out there & enjoying the cold.

      For me, Imbolc holds the promise of spring. Where I live in England we can see snowdrops in bloom and crocus’ beginning to peep through cautiously into the cold winter air. It’s a time that gives me hope for better days to come. It makes me happy.
