Let’s create a personal tarot spread for you for 2023.
This will be 3 – 5 cards in size.
For Position 1 – This year’s theme.
Take this year ‘2023’ and add the numbers together like so: 2+0+2+3 = 7. This gives us the Chariot card.
For Position 2 – Your personal year cards.
Take your day and month of birth plus this year (2023) – for example, if your birthday is 2nd January, you would add 0+2+0+1+2023 = 10, this gives us the Wheel of Fortune. 10 can be reduced by adding 1+0 = 1 giving you the Magician – you now have 2 cards for this year.
Position 3 – Your birth cards.
Take your birthday, for example, 2nd January 1985 add all the numbers together: 0+1+0+2+1+9+8+5 = 26 this number is too high for a Major Arcana card (the highest is 21, not including the Fool who is zero) add 2+6 = 8 which gives the birth card as Strength (Rider Waite Smith style) or Justice (Tarot de Marseille style) – if in doubt which to choose, go with what you’re familiar with or use both, I do if the mood takes me.
All these cards put together make up your personal tarot spread for the coming year.
Every year update this spread with the current year, i.e., 2024, 2025 etc.
You can even travel back in time and see what influences were around in your younger years. Have fun with this and enjoy exploring your personal timeline.
